Tyler and Lindsay broke up!?! A.K.A WTF FRESH!!!!!

     

So...  had informed me that Fresh confirmed that Tyler and Lindsay had broken up sometime after TDWT. Well instead of being butt-hurt and B*tching about the ship of my favourite TD couple sinking I'm going to ask the question, why?

Firstly why just have a couple randomly break up off-screen?

Secondly, what purpose is there to this? Putting my opinions on the two aside the romance between Tyler and Lindsay didn't affect the overall plot too much and breaking them up wouldn't serve much purpose either. So why break them up at all? I mean they're one of the few stable couples left on the show, and a really good romance in my opinion, hell one of the reasons why I loved them is because they didn't have that sort of melo-drama. Why not let be happy together. Can't we just have more happy couples, I mean all the couples in the Ridonculous Race had happy endings.

At first I thought Total Drama was bad at couples (Which is in some cases is) but actually they're really bad at BREAK-UPS! BUT THIS ONE WAS BY FAR THE MOST PETTY, giving a perfectly fine couple a break up; OFF-SCREEN NO LESS! With no real reason or purpose. Again.... WHY!?
