Top 10 Saddest Animated deaths

Jeez I feel sad being reminded of these death while I was making this

10. SpongeBob & Patrick (The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie)
It's heart-breaking seeing your heroes whom you looked up too for 3 seasons have such a slow and painful death. And what adds to the emotion was at first they've failed completely but then they see that they actually did make it shell city.
SpongeBob: We've did make it Patrick
Patrick: Yeah, I guess we did
SpongeBob: We did alright for a couple of goofballs *Sniffs*
The dialogue and character development plus the friendship between the two at it's strongest and to top it off they sing the Goofy Goofer theme song in their last seconds of life

9. Kate (Alpha & Omega)
I wasn't going to put fake out deaths on this list but I had to make an exception with this one. I truly loved the characters in this movie and it was major and genuine shock seeing Kate get hit by the stampede. And everything about the scene is heart-wrenching, from the mood, music and the sense sadness and despair from all the characters (Though if Kate did stay dead then this death would be in the top 3)
 
8. Stoick (How to train your dragon 2)
Whoa... that was a shock.

7. Tadashi (Big Hero 6)
And I saw the trailer for this movie I thought that the film would start with Tadashi already dead, but instead we really got to know the character and Hiro's relationship with him making the death more heartbreaking. Even more this one of the few animated movies that really shows the affects of someone's death on the other characters throughout the movie

6. Terra (Teen Titans)
I've recently seen the Teen Titans season 2 finale for the first time and man it was amazing but also heart-breaking. Terra's character arch was really sad especially when she was able to redeem herself at the end by sacrificing herself to save the titans and Gotham city. And that last moment between her and Beast Boy (I ship those two WAY more than Raven x Beast Boy)
And that memorial at Terra's lifeless stone body with the 'Her name was Terra' speech by each of the Titans was very heart-wrenching

5. Ul/Jude (Fairy Tail)
Sorry anime fans but there are other anime deaths on this list due to me seeing very little anime. However Fairy Tail is my 2nd favourite animated show of all time. And I've picked two deaths from this show that really gave me the feels 

I was brawling my eyes out at Ul's sacrifice. The music and her last speech to Gray was amazing and tear-jerking

And there's Lucy's father Jude. At first like Lucy we don't really know how to feel about the death. But then when Lucy reads that letter Jude written her during her seven year disappearance....                   

4. Nuka (The Lion King 2)
I thought Nuka was a very funny character yet you feel sorry for him being neglected by his family making this death very heart-wrenching. What made more emotional was seeing Zira greatly sadden by his death despite her not seeming care about him showing that she's not a complete monster.

2. The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant)
I don't usually care for these type of stories where they try to make feel emotion for robot characters however the Iron Giant felt like a real character also it's sacrifice didn't feel contrived allowing it to be genuinely emotional. Plus the message behind it makes it more powerful since we never got to know why the Iron giant was sent to earth (Though the film did gives us a good idea) however it learns you are who you chose to be and he chose to be a hero
